Working as an advocate, speaker and learning group facilitator, Candee Basford has engaged herself and others in conversations and actions dedicated to creating communities, schools, organizations, and workplaces that embrace all citizens, including those whose lives are diminished because of continued prejudices toward people with disabilities. She is always looking for and trying out ways approaches that help us inquire, reflect and move us forward toward positive action.

Candee holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University and a graduate degree in Adult Education from Antioch University Mcgregor in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

Candee Basford lives with her family on a farm in rural southern Ohio. She is married to Gary, a farmer and carpentry instructor. They have 3 grown children, Josh, Megan and Katie, and a daughter-in-law Mindy.

Depending on the season, you might find Candee tending her vegetable garden, picking wild blackberries or reflecting through art-making in a tiny, rustic cabin resting on the banks of the West Fork of Brush Creek.
